Project 2 - Calligram

Assignment 2 - Calligram

For this assignment, I used illustrator to create this project. I read a book called Just Mercy by Bryan Stevenson and I was very touched by this book and I decided to use quotes from that book. I created holding hands in hopes for the world to accept one another and also in hopes for peace and love. I created three circles to add the theme of becoming one.

I had difficult times outlining the line of the fingers with the pen tool, however, as I got used to the program I was able to perfect it and make it look more realistic.

For this project, we used the same animation video from the last project and added sound effects using Garage band. It was hard adjusting the sounds to match every movement but I incorporated different sounds to create a unique sound effect.

Project 5 - Gradient Mesh

For the Gradient Mesh project, we had to find a image of a fruit or vegetables against a white background from the Internet image search. Then, we had to convert this object into vector shapes using gradient mesh and other advanced illustration techniques. This project was pretty challenging for me since it was hard making it fake but also somewhat realistic. I had difficult times getting the colors right and playing with shadow colors.
